2018-19 NCAA Football Championship Betting Favorites

The 2018-19 NCAA College Football season will kick off in just a few short weeks. Alabama comes into this season as the defending National Champions after coming from behind to defeat Georgia in the National Championship game. The betting favorites to win this year’s championship features many of the same names as we are used to seeing. Below is a look at the top 5 favorites to win the NCAA Football Championship.
Alabama (9:4)
It comes as no surprise that the Alabama Crimson Tide are the favorites to win another National Championship. Alabama won the title last January, and Nick Saban will have his team ready to repeat this fall. Alabama returns both of their stud quarterbacks in Jalen Hurts and title game hero, Tua Tagovailoa. The Crimson Tide will have to navigate through an always tough SEC, but Alabama will always factor into the championship mix.
Clemson (13:2)
The Clemson Tigers enter the 2018-19 season as the team with the second biggest odds to win the National Championship. The Tigers were knocked off last season in the National semifinal by Alabama. Clemson had another top 10 recruiting class and appear to have a deep and talented roster. Clemson has a tough early season test against Texas A&M, but if they can win that game should have a great shot at finishing the regular season undefeated.
Ohio State (7:1)
Head Coach Urban Meyer will be trying to lead his Buckeyes back into the College Football playoffs after missing them last season. Ohio State comes in tied with Georgia for the third best odds to win the title. The Buckeyes return several key players from last year’s team, but faces a tough schedule this year. Ohio State will have to prove that they can beat Michigan if they want a shot in the playoffs. It seems like the Buckeyes are always in the mix and that shouldn’t change this season.
Georgia (7:1)
The Georgia Bulldogs were seconds away from winning the National Championship last season, before falling to rival Alabama in overtime. Oddsmakers believe that Georgia will be right back in the mix this season, and their schedule sets up nicely for them. Georgia is the clear favorite in the SEC East division, and could run the table in the regular season. Quarterback Jake Fromm is back for his sophomore season and should factor into the Heisman Trophy conversation.
Michigan (14:1)
The Michigan Wolverines have the fifth best odds to win a National Championship, but there is a clear gap between them and the top 4 teams. Michigan is still waiting to have that one great season under head coach, Jim Harbaugh. The Wolverines will get a big test in the season opener when they take on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Michigan will have to beat Ohio State if they are going to have a shot to win a title. The Wolverine fans are hungry for success, and Michigan has a great chance to deliver that this season.
