Buffalo Bills at Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Pick and Prediction

There appears to be some drama for the final two playoff spots in the American Football Conference heading into Week 15 of the NFL season. The Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers both currently hold a Wild Card playoff spot, but they each still have work to do to be a part of the NFL playoffs. The Bills will be in Pittsburgh on Sunday night for a game with the red-hot Steelers.
Pittsburgh has now won three straight games to climb into that Wild Card spot in the AFC. The Steelers are just 8-5 on the season, but they bounced back after a dreadful start. Buffalo still has a chance to win the AFC East, but it has to focus on this game before taking on the first-place Patriots again next week.
The Bills are 9-4 so far this season and hold the top Wild Card spot in the AFC. Pittsburgh is a two-point favorite over Buffalo in this game.
Steelers Defense Getting it Done
The Steelers might not be leading the NFL in team defense this season, but that unit has done a terrific job of keeping the team in the playoff race. Pittsburgh is allowing less than 19 points per game this season, and it should keep the Bulls to less than that number in this game. TJ Watt leads the team with 12.5 sacks this season, while Bud Dupree has chipped in with 9.5.
Quarterback Devlin Hodges probably never expected to play NFL football this season, but he has been terrific for the Steelers. Hodges has completed over 71 percent of his passes so far this season, and he has done a great job of keeping drives alive. The Steelers are averaging just 94 rushing yards per game, but getting James Conner healthy again will improve those numbers.
Bills Can Really Run It
The Bills are not a perfect team by any means, but they run the football almost better than any other team in the league. Buffalo is averaging 135 rushing yards per game, and Devin Singletary and Frank Gore have split time in the backfield and have racked up 1,200 rushing yards. Quarterback Kyle Allen is also deadly with his legs, but he has thrown for 2,737 yards in 2019.
The Buffalo defense has been even better than Pittsburgh this season, and there is no reason to think that will change now. Buffalo has allowed just over 16 points per game, and it has really frustrated some top offenses of late. Defensive tackle Jordan Philips leads the team with 7.5 sacks this season, and he will look to get after Hodges in this game.
Steelers Win Fourth Straight
It’s pretty remarkable that the Steelers are still in the playoff race in the AFC, but they have a legitimate shot to get there. Buffalo is in a great position to reach the playoffs as well, but it could use another win or so.
This game will likely be a low-scoring affair, as each team can really defend. It’s just not wise to pick against the Pittsburgh Steelers at home, especially when they are red hot. Bet the Pittsburgh Steelers -2.0 over the Buffalo Bills.
