Børk Berzerker: Hack ‘N’ Slash Edition Slot by Thunderkick
Børk The Berzerker: Hack ‘N’ Slash Edition slot is the revamped version of the original Børk The Berzerker slot machine, which was also available from Thunderkick. Once again, we have access to the same beloved Norse warrior, Børk, as he’s fighting off monsters of all types on the reels. Expect a cartoon style design that has a lot to offer visually.
At its core, the game might not look like much, particularly as it offers 20 fixed lines over 5 reels, a mix that has been very popular over the years. Things get more interesting as you find out about its 97.3% RTP or as you read about the features that were included in it:
- Expanding wild symbols
- Scatter symbols
- Free spins with additional expanding wild reels
Theme & Graphics
The mythology of the Nords has proven to be fertile ground for developers everywhere, and if all you’re looking for is a design that includes those warriors and their weapons or longboats, you will find it easy to locate a gorgeous looking one. Bør The Berzerker does things differently though, and it puts in the main role a Barbarian called Bork. He fights monsters, sporting horns or more than the usual pair of eyes or fur, all sorts of attributes that regular Vikings don’t usually find in their enemies.
This is a game with cartoon-style graphics, of very high quality and drawn in a way that’s not standard for slot machines that have used similar themes in the past. I think that it’s one of the elements that make this game stand out.
As for the symbols that have been used inside, Børk is one of those, the Necromancer is another, and then we have the Princess that needs saving, three types of monsters and three Royals that look like they were designed by a caveman. Overall, great effort from Thunderkick with this game.
Special Features
Among the several feature symbols that have been used in the game, Børk stands out for sure, particularly since this is a wild that expands vertically on the reel it appears on. That reel is the 3rd one during your base game rounds, the only column where it’s allowed to make an appearance actually. Things can change for the better only once you reach the free spins, as the expanding wilds will be present on all three middle reels, and you will get your chance to trigger them.
No matter in what game mode you get the Bork Expanding Wild, it’s going to be a substitute symbol and if the conditions are right it will participate in the formation of new combinations. There isn’t any reward that you can get from it directly.
The second symbol that you’re getting has the game’s villain for its image. Showing a Necromancer by the looks of it, the one bringing to life all those monsters, it’s going to be scattered around the reels whenever it appears, and its use will be as a trigger for the free games. It’s useful when appearing three, four or five times on those reels, and the reward from it will be 10, 15 or 20 free games.
As it’s been mentioned above, the extra bit that the free spins will bring you comes via the expanding wild, where Bork is shown. Instead of appearing only on reel 3, now it also shows up on reels 2 and 4. It also always expands on reel 2, even if there is no winning combination to result from this action.
Betting & Jackpots
As you set up the bet, in any slot machine that comes from Thunderkick, you will have the option to pick a value from a given list, which ranges from $0.10 to $100. In exchange for the amount that you pick, you get 20 fixed lines active, and the paytable automatically changes to reflect the value of the current prizes available to you.
As any self-respecting hero, Børk seems to be on a mission to save a princess, and the symbol that’s showing us this fair maiden is the one that delivers the best prizes. A combo of five will pay 50x the bet, or $5,000. Luckily, you can form more than one such combo at a time, particularly with those expanding wilds assisting, and in theory, you could win a maximum of $100,000 out of a single round in this game. It shows in the theoretical Return to a Player percentage that’s been announced for it, which at 97.3% makes it better than 90% of the games you will see out there.
