Review of Dwarf Mine Slot by Yggdrasil
One of the many slots which will take us into the depths of a mine, Yggdrasil casinos will have excellent features to go with its pretty graphics. Dwarf Mine will have 5×4 reels with 1024 ways to win when you start it up. The mechanics present inside will allow you to collect crystals, trigger free spins and expand the reels. That last one will get you as many as 16,807 ways to win, as the game area goes to 5×7. Along the way, you’re going to stay inside the mine, digging up crystals and forming winning combinations.
Several excellent features are offered in Dwarf Mine, and among them, you will discover:
- Stacked symbols
- Regular Free Spins
- Collection Free Spins
- Expanding Reels
- Collectible Crystals
Theme and Graphics
Dwarfs have long been known as characters which make a living from digging in the underground, typically for gold, but precious gemstones and crystals could very well be part of their loot. We see one such dwarf, sitting next to the reels, hand on a lever that he will pull whenever you click on the Spin button. As a Yggdrasil Gaming release, it’s going to feature high-end graphics, and that even applies to the lower value card suits.
On the game’s list of symbols, you will find the Bonus Drill, four Super High Paying symbols (four gems, coloured in red, blue, yellow and green) which are reserved for the free spins, high symbols (helmet, pickaxe, lantern and shovel) and low symbols (the four card suits).
Special Features
The game’s features are not quite typical for a slot machine, and they mostly revolve around free spins and the mechanic which allows the game to expand the reels.
Expanding Reels
To expand the reels, and get additional ways to win, you need to land Drill Bonus symbols. Each Drill will add 1 row to the reels, with a limit of 3 extra rows for a spin. At that point, you would have a game area of 5×7 reels, with 16,807 ways to win.
Free Spins
You need three Drill scatters in view, to get 10 regular free spins to trigger. The game area expands for them, to the maximum size of 5×7 reels. The odds of combinations forming go up.
Collection Free Spins
As the reels expand in the base game, there will be additional collectable crystals which will appear as symbols there. To trigger 5 Collection Free Spins, you need to collect 5 crystals of the same type.
For these special free spins, expect to get additional Super High Paying symbols and the full 5×7 reels in the game area. While the base game combinations pay at most 35x, the new symbols will pay up to 100x.
Betting and Jackpots
While you’re playing with a minimum of 1024 ways to win, or more if the reels expand, the wagers which are placed will only have to take into consideration 25 bet lines. As such, it plays like any other Yggdrasil release, with coin values going from $0.004 to $5, while the total amount wagered per spin is between $0.10 and $125.
The highest win which is apparently possible, a 3,904x total stake payout should satisfy most players, particularly since wins shouldn’t be as hard to come by in a slot with so many ways/lined. Naturally, there is 96.8% RTP as well, to tell you that the game is a decent pick even as a long-term companion.
Verdict: I found Dwarf Mine to be a fairly enjoyable game, one where there are a lot of chances to win, so it feels like a low volatility slot. It can still pay quite well, up to 3904x total stake, and the RTP of 96.8% is also telling us that the slot has all the right arguments to make for itself.
