Review of Space Stallion Slot by StakeLogic

StakeLogic appears to have desperately wanted to offer a unique game with Space Stallion Slot. That’s about the only explanation for a video slot which combines space stallions, with space ships and gold mining. The Sci-Fi and the Western genres blend in this game, in a way that might not make much sense, but which looks good and ends up being entertaining. There is a lot to love about a game with so many features, cool graphics and only medium volatility, so I will let you explore what it has to offer. For now, it should be mentioned that it’s a 5-reel slot machine, which has 30 lines, an RTP of 96.11% and top payouts of up to $432,000.

Theme & Graphics

Space Stallion has wild horses and a certain Western-style story, but they’ve placed the action in space. What results from this, is a science fiction-themed game with spaceships, gold mining on alien planets, but also with space stallions and cowboys. Not a game that you would get anywhere else, and on top of that, I also love what they did with its graphics. The quality is high there, and the game highly enjoyable for anyone that likes to have something pretty to look at while spinning the reels.

For the symbols used in Space Stallion, we discover the Royals initially, featuring a Western-style font. Getting to the high-value symbols gets us to the icons with the three main characters, with the Space Stallion, the Badge Wild and the Spaceship scatter.

Special Features

While you’re not going to be surprised to find wild symbols, scatters or free spins in a game, once you take a closer look at what’s offered in Space Stallion, I think you will be impressed at the ways that the developer chose to implement them here. At almost every step of the way, they’ve changed something in the way they work, so you end up with a unique experience overall.

Badge Wilds

The Badge Wild is about the only one that doesn’t do something unique, being the regular version of the substitute symbol. You just need to get this one on an active line, and to have the rest of the required symbols, and this allows it to form a new combination. It is not going to act as a replacement when it comes to the scatter, so it doesn’t trigger features.

Jumbo and Wild Stallions

Space Stallions are symbols that you may get on the reels, in a 2×2 Jumbo-sized version. What makes them a bit more special, is the possibility for them to become Wild Stallions, whenever there is a Badge Wild in view at the same time. Besides the fact that they occupy four positions, there is nothing out of the ordinary about their capabilities. They are used as substitutes, the same as the regular wilds.

Free Spins With Traveling Wilds and Multipliers

When trying to reach the game’s free spins, you are going to need to scatter symbols in view. It’s the usual manner in which slot machines tend to trigger their features. The scatter symbol has a Spaceship for its image here.

As for the requirement that needs to be met, three Spaceships need to be on the reels at the same time, so that you can get to the free spins. The reward consists of 8 free spins.

In this mode, 2×2-sized Jumbo Stallion Wilds are going to be transformed into Traveling Wilds. These will stay around and move downwards by one position per spin, so eventually, they will leave the game area completely. Until then, you get to keep using them in their current roles as wilds.

The other big advantage of the free spins comes from their increasing multiplier. Following a winning round, the multiplier will go up by 1x. The highest multiplier can reach 12x.

While you can’t retrigger the free spins via scatters, as those symbols no longer appear inside, the feature continues for as long as Traveling Wilds are visible on the reels, so you can get more than the 8 rounds that you start with.

When you look at the betting options which are listed in Space Stallion, you find them at the bottom, on the left side. They give you info on the number of active lines, 30, and then allow you to pick the Total Bet. Starting from a minimum of $0.30, the options allow you to increase the value up to $60. The Space Stallions are the top-paying symbols here, with up to 20x the stake paid per line, or 600x total. As I mentioned already, it’s a game with Medium volatility (3 out of 5 ratings), so even though there is some risk involved as well, I found the top payout potential of the game to be very good. As low as those changes may be, it’s good that the possibility of a big payout exists.

As for the Return to Player, the other number that matters, we know that this slot is expected to pay back its players 96.11% of what’s wagered.

Verdict

I like a lot of things about Space Stallion. StakeLogic didn’t try to create just another slot machine here, they worked hard on providing us with something unique. They didn’t invent any new features, but the ones they included are not easily found in other slots, and the entertainment is assured with their help.

Mix the jumbo symbols with wilds, add up to 12x multipliers and travelling wilds, and there is enough to keep you busy. Add the payouts of up to 7,200x in this medium volatility release, and that’s already something that you can’t get in most slots.
