Review of Wild Robo Factory by Yggdrasil
Wild Robo Factory slot, one of Yggdrasil Gaming’s fun releases in 2019, tells us a new story, something that we always want to see in new slots. They designed the interior of a robot factory as a backdrop for the game, and there are apparently cute little robots which are exploited by huge robot overlords. It’s the usual excellent design that Yggdrasil is renowned for, and it uses 25 lines on 5 reels.
As a typical slot machine of theirs, Wild Robo Factory will have a long list of features that can be triggered as you play the slot:
- Wild Symbols
- Double-Reel Wilds
- 2x Multiplier Wilds
- Scatter symbols
- Random Symbol Transformations
- Random Robo Respins
- Free Spins with System Overload
Theme & Graphics
For the story of Wild Robo Factory, we get a look at a robotic sweatshop, the kind of place where tiny cute robots are being exploited by larger evil robots. The inside of the factory doesn’t look like fun at all, not with the huge robots yelling from above, while smaller robots move along sad on the conveyor belt from below the reels.
What you’re likely to enjoy here, is the design that’s used. Once again, if you play a game from this developer, you’re likely to be a fan of modern graphics. They focus on online slots only, and it shows. There is attention to detail here, along with a modern design style
Moving on to symbols, the features come in the form of overlay Robo Wilds, scattered Free Spins, Robo Eye, Robo Hand, Robo Hook and Robo Chest. The low-value positions are the card suits. Each of the low card suits has a certain colour, which corresponds to one of the high-value symbols. During certain features, one can turn into the other, via an upgrade.
Wild Robo Factory Slot Special Features
I love the features that I usually find in Yggdrasil’s releases. They can be fun and they’re not the typical ones that most slots will include. There is a lot of variety as well, another thing to appreciate.
Wild Symbols – Regular, Double Reels and Multipliers
The variety of wild symbols which you can get as you play Wild Robo Factory slot is one of the slot’s strengths. It’s one more thing that will not let you get bored. The regular ones you already know, but you will enjoy the 2x multiplier versions more, as well as the ones occupying two reels at a time.
These wilds you get on the conveyor belt, which is shown at the bottom, and as they move along, they become overlay wilds and they replace symbols from the reels.
Random Symbol Transformations
If triggered, at random moments, it will transform one low value symbol into a high value one, in all positions that it occupies on the reels. A low value green symbol would be upgraded to a high value green hand, for example.
Random Robo Respins
When it triggers, the feature gives you Robo Wilds at the bottom of one of the last three columns. During each respin that follows, the Robo Wild moves one position to the left. Once the last Robo Wild leaves the screen, the respins stop.
Free Spins with System Overload
The game’s own scatters are the ones that will take you to this game mode. Based on the number of triggering scatters, the slot will deliver either 5, 10 or 15 free spins to you.
These aren’t your regular free spins though. Instead, one is removed from the total whenever a Wild Robo from the conveyor belt will leave the game area. These Robos are placed with 1 to 3 spaces between them, so you get a lot more than just 15 regular free spins here.
System Overload: present for the free spins, it can trigger a reversal of the conveyor belt, which takes the Robots back by 1 to 9 positions. In effect, this gives you more free spins, so it’s like re-triggering the feature with a random number of extra rounds.
Betting & Jackpots
Wild Robo Factory slot can be extremely cheap to play, and in fact you can do so with as little as $0.002 wagered on each of its 25 lines, for a total minimum bet of $0.05. There is potential for significantly more though, and if you set the coin value to a $4 maximum, the total will become $100 for a single spin.
For best results, look for the free spins feature and its extra abilities, namely the System Overload. You could get a win of 3,000x total stake then, which would be a decent chunk of change for a game with Medium volatility. On the other hand, regular combinations don’t offer nearly as much, and at best they can pay 15x total stake each (375x with all lines covered).
Another relevant figure, and one where I found Wild Robo Factory slot to be doing particularly well, is the 96.40% Return to Player.
Verdict: In a lot of ways, it’s a typical release for Yggdrasil, a developer that will spend a lot of time getting the design and features right, telling you a story that you enjoy, but then it doesn’t add in the right top jackpots to make it truly exciting. The potential is there for big wins, of up to 3,000x, but only for certain features. Individual wins pay a disappointing 375x total stake.
