Online Casino Guides

Like most aspects of a competitive life, you only get out of casino games what you are prepared to put into them. If you are playing online casino games in 2020 and you do not really know what you are doing, then you are simply going to be throwing your money away. Most people play online casino games for entertainment purposes with the chance of winning a little extra cash, but what’s the point of playing without knowing what you are doing? You would be wasting time, as well as your hard-earned cash.

While it’s true that luck plays a major role in most casino games, many games do require a slight element of skill. Other games such as online slots and roulette are mainly luck-based, but it will still help you get more out of the game if you understand the rules that govern it, and how it works.

If you want to be a consistent and dedicated online casino games player, then you need the help offered to you hereby our exclusive NewCasinos.org gaming guides!

Why do I need an online gaming guide anyway?

Like all games, online casino games have rules. How far would you get if – say – you played chess against a grandmaster and you did not know how the pieces moved? Online casinos are indeed grandmasters of casino games as they do not make mistakes. You will not get a blackjack dealer who hits on nineteen or a roulette croupier who pays out on half the bets that have not won.

You will only have a decent chance of winning if you play to the best of your abilities and understand the game you are playing and what you are doing. The good news is that you do not have to be the casino equivalent of a chess grandmaster in order to give yourself a chance of winning. In chess, there are more possible moves than there are stars in the universe. In blackjack, there are 18 possible totals for you, and 18 possible totals for the dealer, making only 324 possible game positions. It is therefore much easier to be a blackjack grandmaster than a chess one!

Our gaming guides will teach you the ins and outs of all the most popular casino games so you can get the most out of your online casino experiences.

Will these online gaming guides allow me to win money?

No – there is never any guarantee that playing any kind of online casino game will win you money. Casino games are designed so that you lose money – slowly, sure, but in the end, the casino will always win.

You may then ask what is the point of playing casino games? The answer is … for entertainment purposes with the chance of winning money. Playing casino games is like buying a lottery ticket – you have a low chance of winning, but you do have a chance of winning. Playing casino games is the same except that you have a much better chance of winning (although the casino will always more likely win than you will), but you have a much lower chance of winning a huge cash amount.

The purpose then of our guides is to help you understand casino games and get the most out of your online casino play. Do not think they are any kind of guarantee of you winning money, although they will decrease the chance of you losing money because you do not know what you are doing.

Will these online gaming guides tell me about online betting systems?

Yes! They will tell you not to use them because they do not work. ALL online betting systems aside from bankroll management work in theory, but they fail in practice. This is because they always hit a snag – the casino betting limit.

Take the most popular flawed betting system, the Martingale. This is where you double your bets every time you lose and then return to your original bet as soon as you win. This works … until you hit a losing streak. Even if you are betting at the $1 level a few consecutive losses will see you betting $512 in order to keep the system alive. If you lose that hand then it’s $1,024 … and what if the table limit is $1,000? The system is broken and your money is gone.

No matter the system, it will always fail in the end. There is no better way to enhance your experience with online casino play than being sensible with your money (bankroll management) and making sure you know what you are doing when it comes to the game.

What about procedural betting systems? Do they work?

Not at all. Such betting systems are based on the previous outcomes of the games – for example, betting on black on roulette if the previous number was red. In European roulette, the odds of a red number being the winning number is 18/37, and that’s the same on every turn – it never changes.

If you are not convinced by this, then asks yourself this question – if the previous winning number was black, ‘who’ remembers this to dictate that the next winning number has more chance of being red? The wheel has no memory so … who? The answer is, no one! If you want to learn more about this subject then search ‘The Gambler’s Fallacy’ via Google.

There was one very famous example of this that occurred in Monte Carlo in 1913. Word spread around a major casino that ball had fallen on black at one roulette table over a dozen times in a row, so gamblers raced over and began to bet vast fortunes on red, in the belief that red was more likely now to win. In the end, the ball landed on black twenty-six times in a row, and collectively players lost millions.

You can buy software that ‘watches’ and monitors an online roulette wheel spinning that then recommends that you place bets on numbers or groups of numbers that haven’t come up from some time. Such apps are useless and their mechanics are based on a false premise, so you should avoid them at all costs.

What is bankroll management?

Bankroll management is the best way (along with reading our gaming guides) to get the most out of your casino play. It is one that is used by successful gamblers (in terms of enjoying their gambling) the world over. Here are the steps necessary for successful online gambling bankroll management.

  1. Work out per month how much disposable income you have that you do not mind losing via gambling. In this example, we are going to say this is $100.
  2. Divide that figure by ten. This is your session In our example, the session bankroll would be $10.
  3. Work out the length of your session. In our example, we are going to say one hour.
  4. Divide your session bankroll by one hundred. This is your base stake. In our example, our base stake is $0.10.
  5. Start to gamble. Use your base stake as your stake, no matter what game you are playing from slots to video poker. Do not change it, no matter how well or how poorly you are doing.
  6. As soon as you reach the end of your playing session, stop gambling, no matter how well or how poorly you are doing.
  7. If you use up all of your session bankrolls during your session, then stop gambling. Do not dip further into your overall bankroll.
  8. If you double the value of your session bankroll during your session, then stop gambling, no matter if you think you are on a winning streak or not (‘winning streaks’ do not exist). If you continue to gamble then you run the risk of losing all that you have won during your session.
  9. If, during the month, you exhaust your overall bankroll, then do not gamble for the rest of the month. Do not use other money for gambling.
  10. If, during the month, you double the value of your overall bankroll, then do not gamble for the rest of the month. Use the money you have won to treat yourself, then wait for next month before you start gambling again.

All gamblers should have an effective bankroll management strategy. If you cannot follow the advice given above then perhaps you should not gamble as you are showing tendencies that may see you become a problematic gambler in the future.

Online Casino Guides FAQ

  • Why aren’t all casino games covered? What about sic no, pai gow poker and scratch cards?

We’ve chosen not (yet) to produce gaming guides for every single casino game possible. We have chosen instead to concentrate upon the ten most popular games that are played at online casino sites. We may expand our portfolio of gaming guides in the future, so, watch this space!

  • I have tried to maintain the bankroll strategy you’ve suggested here, but I still end up spending money on gambling that I didn’t mean to. What should I do?

If you have fallen into the trap of over-spending on your gambling, it is about time that you took a break. Have a month off from gambling to ‘reset’ your gambling attitude. If you find it hard to abstain from gambling for a whole month, then you may have problem gambling tendencies. Consult our articles on problematic gambling.

  • How can black be just as likely to come upon a roulette spin if black has just come up nine times in a row! It doesn’t make sense!

It does make sense. Humans are prone to something called ‘cognitive bias’. This is a belief that something is true when logically, it is not. Humans tend to think that in games of chance, the longer that something doesn’t happen, the odds of it happening to lessen. In all games that are purely random, this is not the case.

  • I’m from Australia and I’ve never heard of slots? What are they?

Slots is short for ‘slot machines’ – this was the original name for such games because they had a slot in which you inserted a coin to play. When they were ported over to Australia, the most popular sort of slot machine was one that used playing cards as symbols with the aim of creating poker hands. These became known as ‘poker machines’ or ‘pokies’ for short. In Australia and New Zealand slots are called ‘pokies’.

Other names for slots include fruit machines, puggies, fruities and one-armed bandits.

  • Why does none of the game guides mention casino bonuses?

The guides are for players who just want to get the most out of their casino playing. Information about bonuses and other such promotions can be found elsewhere on the site.

  • Which online casino games should I play if I want to have the best chance of winning?

If you want to play casino games that minimise the house edge that the casino has over the player, then you should play blackjack, video poker, baccarat or craps. We have a gaming guide for all these popular online casino games.

  • Which online casinos have the best odds?

There is no such thing as an online casino having the best odds. Casino games have odds, and all online casinos offer (practically) the same games. Therefore it can safely be said that all online casinos have roughly the same odds. You should choose an online casino for its integrity, player support options and reputation above considerations such as bonuses and gaming odds, anyhow.
