New England Patriots at Philadelphia Eagles Betting Pick and Prediction

The last two Super Bowl Champions are set to square off in a rematch on Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots are both playoff contenders again this season, but Philadelphia has a much tougher hill to climb than the Patriots. Both teams had a bye in Week 10, so they will be extremely prepared for this game.
New England has just one loss on the season, but it was a pretty bad loss to the Baltimore Ravens in their last outing. The Patriots hold the top spot in the AFC, but they have some teams right on their tails. Philadelphia comes into this game with a record of 5-4 and is currently tied for first place in the NFC East. The Eagles and Cowboys have been battling all season long for the top spot in that division. New England is a 3.5-point favorite over Philadelphia in this game.
Patriots Need Defense to Regroup
Defense has keyed the Patriots’ great start to the season, but that unit really let the team down in Week 9. New England has still given up less than 11.0 points per game, but it was torched for 37 points by the Ravens. The Patriots have recorded 32 sacks already this season, and they have also forced an impressive 27 turnovers. If New England plays aggressive on defense, it is hard to beat.
Quarterback Tom Brady continues to put up huge numbers even as he continues to get older. Brady has thrown for over 2,500 yards this season, but the Patriots have allowed him to get sacked 15 times. Running back Sony Michel is extremely important for this team, but he is averaging just 3.3 yards per carry. The Patriots usually find a way to score on offense, but this isn’t an explosive offensive team.
Eagles Need More From Wentz
The Philadelphia Eagles have invested a ton of money and faith in Carson Wentz, and it’s time for the QB to deliver. Wentz has completed just 60 percent of his pass attempts this season, and he is hesitant to run the ball as well. The Eagles have dealt with a ton of injuries on offense, but Zach Ertz remains healthy and productive. Ertz leads the team with 46 catches for 527 yards and is the top option for Wentz.
Philadelphia’s defense will also be tested in this game, and it has really struggled in the losses this season. The Eagles are giving up less than 24 points per game but allowed 37 and 38 points in their previous two losses. Philadelphia does have 24 sacks this season, and getting pressure on Tom Brady could turn the game in their favor.
New England Too Much For Philly
The Patriots had two long weeks to think about their blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens. There is no doubt that Bill Belichick will have his team ready for this game. Philadelphia has looked great at times this season, but it just can’t find any consistency. This game will likely be close throughout, but the Patriots just have too much talent. Take the New England Patriots -3.5 over the Philadelphia Eagles in this game. NewCasinos.org is here for all your sports betting needs.
