Platforms: Yggdrasil Gaming

Yggdrasil Gaming obtained its first license and was established only in 2013, so there isn’t a lot of history there so far, yet the developer is considered one of the top 10 companies offering slots right now and it’s highly respected by players. Its full name is Yggdrasil Gaming Ltd and it’s a developer that meets the requirements from several jurisdictions, including here Malta, Great Britain, Gibraltar and Romania. Yggdrasil casinos are mostly known for slot machines, but they’re also growing in the lottery and the table gaming market.

Yggdrasil Gaming Slots

Though they have other types of games as well, Yggdrasil Gaming is first and foremost a developer of slot machines, and they currently have 53 different ones released or announced for the next couple of months.

Themes in their games will vary in quality, but the design will almost always be of a high quality. You can look at the slots from the Vikings series, at The Royal Family, Easter Island and many others if you want to see their best work.

They’re not perfect, so they have some slots that are not as great, but even those can be fun. I’d mention slots like Doubles, and Incinerator in the category of games that I didn’t love, but the graphics are at their highest even in those.

Special Features

A developer that manages to make its games fun will not do so just with regular wilds and free spins, though those are also available. In the case of Yggdrasil Gaming, you’re looking at a long list of features on average, with plenty of unique options available.

It looks like no two games are alike in their collection. You get Drop down Wins and collectable Dragon Heads if you play Double Dragons, or you have a Hold feature and free spins with up to 10x multipliers in Empire Fortune.  The list can go on, as the features are incredibly varied in their slots.

What Yggdrasil Gaming has to offer

I found the games from Yggdrasil’s collection to be among the best looking ones around. There are incredible graphics present, no matter what kind of theme they try and cover. You will find Viking warrior themes on more than one occasion in their slots, but there is also Samurai (Honzo’s Dojo), werewolves (Wolf Hunters) or cute penguins (Penguin City).

The vast majority of the games they offer are going to be marketed with an RTP of over 96%, always a plus for any developer that is trying to win the hearts of the players.

Currently, the developer offers over 50 slot machines and they’re expected to launch about a dozen new ones each year unless they change the way they work.

They’re currently strong in the lottery and instant games markets as well, so they can offer a good mix of Keno games, instant play games and lottery content at casinos that choose to include them.

History of Yggdrasil Gaming

The first gaming license issued to Yggdrasil Gaming came in 2013, the company is established in 2012. The founder of the company is a former CEO from NetEnt, which explains the extremely high production values and the focus on the player that characterizes this developer. They started out with a Malta Gaming Authority license, but they obtained others as well in the years to come.

Soon after starting out, in 2014, they saw what the future was, and they gave up on using Flash technology in their games. They made the switch to the iSense platform and they started offering HTML5 content that is accessible on all devices. They began with games like Winter Berries or Robotnik, plus a few others released that same year.

In 2015, the company released Boost, a promotional tool that could be used in the game. That same year they also released their first network campaign. Among their notable launches of 2015, I would mention Joker Millions, Vikings Go Wild or Holmes & The Stolen Stones, but there were other good ones as well.

In 2016, Yggdrasil Gaming’s major milestones revolved around a social media sharing tool called Brag and around the Missions. They also launched a White Label studio that year. This is the year when they released Seasons, Jokerizer, Monkey King or Legend of the White Snake Lady, to mention only a few.

Beauty & The Beast, Trolls Bridge, Rainbow Ryan or Pumpkin Smash were among those launched in 2017. As for 2018, the year started strong with Ozwin’s Jackpots, continued with Gem Rocks and slots like Easter Island or Vikings Go To Hell.

They got the Innovator of the Year award two years in a row, in 2017 and 2018, at IGA – International Gaming Awards, which is saying something about the way they do things and the games they create.

How To Find The Best Yggdrasil Casinos

I don’t remember ever seeing one dedicated to this developer alone, but if you check out a casino that offers content from multiple companies, there are good odds that they will have Yggdrasil slots as well.
