Updated Betting Odds To Win 2018 World Series

The 2018 Major League Baseball season is entering the final two months of the regular season. Contenders are trying to complete trades to improve their ballclubs, while sellers are looking toward the future. The odds will continue changing as the trade deadline approaches. Let’s take a look at the current odds to win the 2018 World Series.

Houston Astros +410

The Houston Astros continue to have the best odds to win the 2018 World Series. The Astros are trying to become the first team to win back to back titles since the New York Yankees. The Astros have been relatively quiet so far in the trade market, but they have all the pieces they need for another deep playoff run.

Boston Red Sox +465

The Red Sox continue to score runs at a very high rate, and also might feature the best starting pitcher in baseball. Mookie Betts and J.D. Martinez lead a very balanced Red Sox offensive attack, while Chris Sale has been dominant on the mound. The Red Sox have the best record in baseball and pose the biggest threat to the Astros.

New York Yankees +535

The Yankees have been busy adding players, and with the addition of Zach Britton now feature the best bullpen in baseball. New York will be without slugger Aaron Judge for the next several weeks, but should reach the playoffs. The Yankees might be stuck in the AL Wild Card Game, but they will be dangerous in October.

Los Angeles Dodgers +850

The Dodgers made the biggest climb in World Series odds after acquiring Manny Machado from the Baltimore Orioles. Machado gives the Dodgers the best lineup in the National League, and they are the clear favorite in the NL. Los Angeles could use another starter if they are going to challenge the top teams from the American League.

Chicago Cubs +950

The Cubs added Cole Hamels in an attempt to shore up their terrible starting rotation. Kris Bryant is back on the disabled list for the Cubs, and they have struggled to start the second half of the season. Chicago still has the best record in the NL, but their lead has shrunk considerably.

Cleveland Indians +1300

The Indians are dominating the American League Central, but they aren’t on par with the other top teams in the AL. Cleveland has the playoff experience, but they will be the underdog come playoff time.

Philadelphia Phillies +1625

The Phillies have opened up a 2.5 game lead in the NL East, and look like the favorite to win that division. The Phillies can hit, but it will be interesting to see if their pitching holds up as the season progresses.

Arizona Diamondbacks +2000

The Diamondbacks will probably have to reach the playoffs via the Wild Card if they are going to get in. Arizona is staying close to LA in the West, but the Dodgers are the superior team.

Atlanta Braves, Milwaukee Brewers +2150

The Braves and Brewers are two very dangerous teams that have both been the best in the National League for stretches this season. The two teams will be battling it out for a Wild Card spot if they can’t win their division.

Washington Nationals +2250

Surprisingly, the Nationals are still getting decent odds to win the 2018 World Series. Washington is finally back at the .500 mark (52-52), but have plenty of work to do if they are going to reach the 2018 playoffs.

Everyone Else +2500 Or Higher

The Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics lead this group, but ultimately they are huge underdogs to win the 2018 World Series. At this point, it’s not worth making a bet on someone from this group.
